UTNA Press Release on the war in the Sudan

Press Release

UTNA is very concerned by the outbreak of war in the Sudan and we call upon the world community to pressure the waring parties to halt the war and resolve their political differences by negotiating on the table.

We are especially concerned that close to eighty thousand Tigrayan refuges in the Sudan, under the UNHCR, displaced from Tigray by the Amhara expansionist and Eritrean invaders are under eminent danger.

UTNA calls on the Ethiopian government, the provisional government of Tigray, the UN, The US, the European Union and African Union to secure the safety of those refugees by repatriating to their homes in Tigray.

Meanwhile, the Amhara expansionists and the Eritrean invading forces must leave western Tigray in order to ensure the safety of the repatriated refugees.

UTNA appreciates the role of the US, the UN, the European Union, and African Union for mitigating the genocidal war in Tigray by bringing the two stakeholders to the table.

UTNA wishes peace and stability to the generous Sudanese people who have provided safe stay to the war displaced Tigrayans.
